Trolls are increasingly becoming a problem on all social media channels, but Twitter has launched a new feature to combat them! This new move is an approach Twitter is taking to help combat harassment, which is a very positive move on their part.
Here is how to use this new feature:
- Navigate over to your notifications.
- Go to the upper right-hand corner and click on the tool/settings button.
- Click on the “Advanced Filters” button.
- Choose the notifications you would like to turn off. Your options include the following:
- Individuals who have a new account
- Those who are not following you
- Individuals you are not following
You’re all set!
Snapchat recently introduced a couple of new features that allow you to spice up those disappearing messages of yours, including backdrops, paperclip and voice filters.
1) Voice filters
There were specific augmented reality filters that used to come with voice alterations of their own. Snapchat now offers a stand-alone voice filter where your voice can be changed on demand. This gives your snaps a dash of fun to them.
After a snap has been recorded, you can tap on the speaker icon down on the bottom part of the screen and then look through the different character voices and choose one.
Users can attach a link to a snap, which allows viewers to navigate to it through swiping on this link. Note: Verified profiles are already allowed by Instagram stories to attach links to these stories. When you are editing a picture, to enter your link just click on the paperclip button.
This feature lets you highlight a specific area in an image and then switch it out for a certain design, or you can copy and paste it into a different part of the image.
When you are editing a picture, go to the scissors icon and tap on it. Outline the area on the photo that you would like to be in front of your pattern and then select a backdrop out of the Snapchat library. It is similar to a more basic Photoshop version.
Facebook created its own GIF button to mark GIF’s 30th anniversary. This button enables users to directly drop GIFs into a comment.
Navigate to the comment bar and simply tap on the GIF button. Then just type in whatever you want to say and choose the perfect GIF to go with it.
There is a new feature from Instagram that enables you to hide and archive certain photos that are in your profile.
Think about that embarrassing selfie that you posted after first starting your account. You really do not want to delete the photo, but you also don’t want other people to see it.
Just click on the specific photo you would like to hide. Go to the options menu and tap on it and a new “Archive” option will be there. It places your photo in a private album and you are the only one who is able to access it.
By leveraging these advanced features on social media, you can increase engagement and the chances that your audience will share your fun content.
